About Me

I was born in Mount Isa (a mining town in north-west Queensland), the fourth of six children. We moved to Brisbane when I was still a child, and that’s where I’ve lived ever since.

Growing up, I used to entertain my little sisters with bedtime stories and write plays for my siblings to perform. I also wrote numerous stories (most of which strike me now as being very poor quality!) and before I finished primary school I’d decided that I wanted to become an author.

After high school I chose to study creative writing. In 2008 I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Creative Writing Production) at the Queensland University of Technology, and began working as an Assistant Editor for IP Kidz, an imprint of Interactive Publications. I was the Children’s and Young Adult editor at IP until 2014.

When I’m not working or writing stories, I enjoy reading, sport, bushwalking, playing the piano and spending time with my family.
